The 27 Social Centre is a radical community space committed to providing
Denver with a location for our organizations, meetings, classes, art,
music, history, libraries and much more. 10 organizations call the Centre
home, including Denver ABC, Build Up Books, Denver Zine Library,
Sent(a)mental Studios, Colorado Street Medics, the IWW and Bread and
Roses.

Join us for a very special May Day installment of the 27 Social Centre's
Secret Cafe.

Food is $5-$12 a plate
Kids always eat free!

This month our menu features labor struggle inspired menu items including:

- Coalition of Immokalee Workers Bloody Marys
- Rebel Grrl Biscuits and Gravy
- Oaxacan Teachers' Strike Breakfast Tamales
- May 1968 (French) Toast
- Triangle Shirt Waist Scones
- One Big Union Scramble
- ¡UFW Presente! Grape Jelly Tarts

All of these items are vegan and many are gluten free.

Build Up Books has changed its hours, now open Saturday 12-3pm, to coincide with the secret cafe and the P&L infoshop!

David Gilbert’s “Love and Struggle” Book Release Event

Saturday, January 14th

27 Social Centre (2727 W 27th ave)

Build Up Books and the Denver Anarchist Black Cross will be celebrating the release of Love and Struggle, the memiors of white anti-imperialist political prisoner David Gilbert.

The event will include a screening of an interview with David Gilbert, readings of selected passages, and a brief presentation and discussion on his life. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

The event is free and child friendly.

Black August Dinner with Robert King Wilkerson and Ward Churchill

Black August began in the 1970′s as a way to honor fallen Black freedom fighters George and Jonathon Jackson, William Christmas, James McClain and Khatari Gaulden. The practice of Black August has since grown into an important moment to reflect on the history and current landscape of struggles against imperialism, colonialism, and white supremacy.
